From Prep to Practice

Z lavíc do praxe (From Prep to Practice) is a series of discussions bringing together students of translation and interpreting across Slovakia. Since April 2024, discussions have taken place in Banská Bystrica and Prešov, with more planned in Bratislava, Nitra, Prešov and Banská Bystrica.

In today’s world, practical skills are essential for professional success, particularly in the field of translation and interpreting. The student civic association Sa zobuď! is committed to bridge the gap between academia and professional practice through Z lavíc do praxe (From Prep to Practice) discussions. The discussions encourage students to gain hands-on experience during their studies, with peers who have already done so sharing their insights.

The events provide a valuable opportunity to learn how to start practising before graduation and understand the real-world benefits of the profession. They also highlight the importance of connecting theory with practice.
